Mamma's sweet baby Henry- happy birthday! You are 4 months old today. I can't believe it. Seems like I just came home form the hospital with you. You are an amazing baby. You are so cool and chill. You do not fuss a lot or get upset (only when you are hungry). You are always laughing and smiling - no joke. It's so beautiful. It's like the sun shining down on me when you smile at me- it's heaven. You chill out and play by yourself happily. You watch your brother a lot. You just are an absolute joy. We have been so blessed! You eat a lot and you are a chunker. You sleep well and I think that's because you are happy, content and full. Again, we have been so blessed! Lastly, we even turn the music up so loud - Hudson and I love to jam, but I think you do too. You love it and I'm not kidding- it is loud!

Anni and Ella are Here for Thanksgiving!! Weekend!

Ella's grandparents live in Darien. They are here for 5 days visiting. We met them at The Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, CT. Then, we ate lunch in Darien. It's always awesome to see our dear friends. I love seeing Anni and I miss her. She is the closest friend I made from Dallas and a dear friend I'll always have! Ella is your oldest friend and you all will always have your special connection. I realized today that you and Ella met when you were Henry's age now, 4 months.
The funny thing is, you and Ella are so similar! She is a tom boy. She climbs everything like you do and you are both rambunctious!!

Thanksgiving with New Friends

We spent Thanksgiving night at the Hamilton's house. We just love our new friends. I definitely think it was fate that we met them. You and Axel go to school together. I love Axel's mom, Heather. We have so much in common, even the age difference between us and our husbands are the exact same. Daddy also gets along great with Heather's husband, Eddie, who is a great guy. We had a special thanksgiving there, especially since this was the first time in our lives to be away from our families for Thanksgiving.

Henry's First Time on the Swing!

Today was Henry's first time on a swing. He is almost 4 months! It was the sweetest thing because Hudson wanted me to put him in his lap so they could swing together. Hudson smiled and laughed and it was the sweetest! Henry, you had so much fun on your brother's lap. Warms a Mamma's heart!

Hudson Rides a Bike w/No Training Wheels!
Hudson,
What?!? You are only 4.5 years old. You have been practicing here and there on your first, little bike, and today, Daddy took the training wheels off your big bike and you really got it. You got it! I'm not sure I know any 4.5 year olds riding a bike with no training wheels! Daddy and Mamma are so proud of you. Mostly, you amaze us.
When you want to do something, by God, you will do it, and you will figure it out yourself. Of course, you want to do everything by yourself, and sometimes, it drives me crazy, but you are strong willed and this will be an asset throughout your life!
You really never had a bad fall learning to ride with no training wheels. You know how to brake and fall to where you don't really get hurt. You are very coordinated and athletic. We don't know what that means right now, but you are!
Just always remember now and into the future, you can do anything you put your mind to, especially with the strong and courageous personality that you have. We love you! You're amazing!

First Fire in Our OG Home
We have a great fireplace in our home in Old Greenwich. You love to make fires with Daddy. You are so cute. You get really excited. You immediately want to get marshmallows, which I think is part of your excitement about fires. However, you don't like to roast them, you just want to eat them. You also want to poke the fire with the fire poker. We have to tell you "That's enough. Be careful. That's enough Hudson." you are such a cutie HUD. I love u!

Hudson First CT Snow - Fun, but Missing Dallas Weather

So, the weather here seems to be crazy already this year. We just got through one of the biggest storms to hit the Northeast, Hurricane SANDY, and the week after, we get hit with a Nor'easter. It was like a blizzard and snowed for 8 straight hours! You thought it was a blast and went outside and played and played. You also ate the snow and put it in cups so we could make snow cones. You are so beautiful to watch.
This is a big change for you from the nice climate of Dallas, Texas where you could wear flip flips and t-shirts all winter. You are not use to this yet and you keep walking out the door for school with no coat on. You were so cold on Halloween night, you were ready to come home! You were telling me and Daddy how you missed Dallas, which you have done somewhat regularly since we moved. We want to talk to you about it so you know you can always tell me and Daddy your feelings. They are SO VERY IMPORTANT to us. We asked what it was you were missing about Dallas. You said, "I want to live where you can wear flip flips all year long!" Good answer indeed.
I want you know that it is good to miss people and places. It means you have a lot of love in your heart and that the person or place lives inside of you and makes you who you are - this is a beautiful thing!! If you aren't loving, you aren't living my love...

Henry, you are 2.5 months here and you are already so big! You nap on Mamma and Daddy's bed every morning. It's so sweet. You look so comfy, like an angel, laying on our comforter. You are a little chunker and I could just eat you up. You have no problem eating - you are a healthy, big boy. You are such a joy - you smile and laugh all the time - no joke. And maybe all parents say this about their babies, but I am serious. It's the way you are. You are a joy. Such an easy baby. It will be interesting and amazing to watch you grow and to see if your content, sweet and laid back personality sticks. You can sit in your swing or play on your piano toy mat for an hour and be completely content. I love you sweets, with all my heart! Mamma

Pumpkin Patch with New Friends!
Middle October 2012
We went to an apple picking farm and pumpkin patch today with new friends. Well, friends we made since the start of Hudson's school 3 mos ago! It was called Silverman's Farm and it is in Easton, CT. The boy in the picture with you is Axel Hamilton. He's in your class. I really like his mom, Heather. She is my speed and we have so much in common! We also went with a little boy in your class named Wrigley Keyes. I also really like his mom, Whitney. When we got there, they said the apple picking season was over, so that was kind of sad, but you all didn't know the difference. We got to see the apple trees on the hay ride. Henry went on the hay ride and he was such a good boy! We went to the petting zoo and Hudson fed every animal. We had a great day!

Presidential Election 2012 - Tuesday Night!

I'm behind on blogging, but wanted to write this entry now. Daddy and I are up watching the presidential election. It is democracy in America tonight - a beautiful thing! Tonight, this country will choose the President of the United States of America. We will choose the incumbent, Barack Obama (please God), or we will choose the Republican candidate, Mitt Romney (boo). This kind of thing can stress your Mamma out!! I start talking to the TV and Merrill tells me to chill, however, I'm feeling good that Obama is going to win. I have known in my heart all along he would pull through. He is the better man, the truer man, the more candid man, the more intelligent man and the man with the best character. By a long shot! Mamma is a huge Obama fan, obviously. In 2008, when I was five months pregnant with Hudson, I went to Iowa for the Iowa caucuses during Obama's first race and met my dear friend, Amy Rice, who was making a documentary on him. We followed him around for a few days. It was amazing. What an orator he is! Mamma and Daddy did vote. It is our right and our duty as Americans. I sent away for our ballots, because we are still registered in Texas. We both voted for Obama.
Boys, remember how lucky we are to be born in a free country where we can vote and elect a leader.

Hudson Brings Me Flowers...

We have pretty wild flowers that grow in our front yard here in Old Greenwich. You often go outside and pick me flowers. It's the sweetest thing!!!! You just make my day! You have always picked up flowers and given then to me. It's just precious and I love it! You get that it's a sweet gesture to do for a girl and I love it! But, you get most things- wise beyond your years. I remember when I got out of the hospital after having John Henry, you and Siti had picked a lot of flowers from the front yard and you had them ready for me. I love you Hudson! You are so good to your mamma and I hope to always get flowers from you!

2012 Presidential Debate

There is a very big election going on this year. The year Hudson was born, 2008, Barack Obama was voted in as the first African American president of the United States of America. It was a great day in this country. I proudly voted for this great man. This year, the year of John Henry's birth, he is trying to keep his seat as commander in chief. He is running against Republican Candidate Mitt Romney (who Mamma is not very fond of). We were watching the debate and feeding John Henry. I propped him up so he could weigh in! Haha. Mamma gets a very upset during these debates and starts yelling at the TV!
