Sick Day 01/27/11

My sweet baby,

You got very sick today. You woke up happy, and then our friends came over, Melissa and her son, Jack. You went downhill from there. You were super cranky and crying and getting upset over anything. I got lunch ready for you and Jack and you said, "I want to take a siesta." It was noon and you went up stairs and fell asleep while Jack and I ate lunch. You woke up burning up and feeling terrible, You had a temperature of 102.5. You curled up in my lap on the couch for 4 hours! You cried off and on and you were steaming hot. You even fell asleep for another hour. Hudson, this is important because you NEVER do this. When you are sick, you jump all over, play through it. You just don't sit still like that. You are a high energy child. I so enjoyed it. You cuddled up and only wanted "Mamma". You rarely cuddle with me these days, so I was thrilled to lay with my baby. I just wanted to take the sickness from you and put it in me. I felt so bad for you my baby. I was calling the doctor and you went crazy, crying, "I don't want to go to the doctor." You got so upset over that and that's when you fell asleep.

Tonight, I read you books before bed time like always, and you said, "Mamma, I want to go in my bed now. " We usually sing a song, pray and cuddle, but you were so tired. So, I didn't say much more and put you down. Then, Daddy came in and said night night. Then, I heard you say, "Mamma, mamma." I went in there and you said, "Are we gonna meet at the beach?" My heart melted. It was the sweetest, most precious moment. We decided to meet in our dreams at the beach and you were going to bring the towels and the beach ball. God, I love you! With all my heart and soul. Be well my love... Mamma

Golfing with Daddy

Hudson,

You and Daddy went to the golf range and you had so much fun! You were so cute with your golf bag. You put it on your back and walked to the car. Daddy said you all had a blast and that he taught you some golf etiquette, like being quiet when another golfer is in the middle of his swing. From about 9 months to 18 months, you loved golf. You would wake up and run to your clubs and we would hit balls outside everyday. You still like it, but you are more obsessed with music at the moment. Daddy said you were hitting the ball well. You got home and hit some in the back yard with your real clubs and you did hit the ball so well! If you want, you can be a great golfer, just like your Daddy. You are a natural athlete Hudson, just like your Daddy. It is obvious. You have great coordination. We take a class called Playwisely and your teacher cannot believe how athletic and coordinated you are for your age. She said it was "fantastic." You just have to practice practice, because golf is not easy. No sport is easy and you must practice if you want to excel. P.S. I hope you play golf or baseball over football! I love you amore mio. Mamma

November 2010 - You are 2 years and 7 months old.

01/24/11 Siti's Birthday

You and I went to Oklahoma City for Siti's birthday. We had so much fun! You ate entirely too much cake and candy. Siti likes to feed you. The minute we arrived in OKC, we went to pick out Siti's birthday cake and she bought you some cookies. You picked out a purple and green cake and you couldn't wait to eat it. At dinner, no one could believe how much you can eat. Uncle Rhoni kept saying, "He's a growing boy." Siti cooked roast and you ate a lot of it as well. You have a big appetite, which is great for a little boy. You are in love with sweets. I think you would eat candy and cookies for every meal if I would let you. You kept saying, "Are we eating the cake yet?" I repeated ten times "After everyone is finished." You and Bailey sang Happy Birthday to Siti and helped her blow the candles out. It was precious! You, my love, can find candy wherever it is. Daddy and I have to be very mindful of this.

We went to The Learning Tree and Siti bought you a play cash register. You love it! You rang everyone out. Siti would say, "I would like a cup of coffee. How much is it?" You kept saying 2 dollars and 46 cents for everything! I am not sure why, but it was precious.

We went to Uncle Rhoni's house before dinner. Uncle Rhoni bought Bailey a zip line and you jumped right on it and you smiled so big when you took off! You and Bailey had so much fun playing.

Everyone came over to Siti's for birthday dinner and you and Bailey had so much fun running all over. I played hide and go seek with you two and you both just kept saying, "Again, again." You stayed up so late and you rarely stay up late. You slept in Siti's bed and I don't think you went to bed until 10:30! You had a blast though. You and Siti woke up the next morning and she told me that you slept well and that she kissed and hugged you all night. She loves you so much. Siti was so happy because she had her grand kids there for her birthday and because they were having so much fun.

You and Bailey watching "Ponyo" on Siti's bed after dinner. You were jumping, running in and out of the living room and back to the bed to watch the show. You were having a blast.

I want more cake! Aunt Kay cut you another piece of cake and you had not finished your first one!

Siti also got ice cream cones and ice cream as if we needed more sweets...

You gave Uncle Rhoni a big kiss and Uncle Rhoni loves kisses!

Uncle Vic, Siti, Aunt Kay and Hudson.

You made your own drum set in Siti's room. The lamp shade was your cymbal. Long fire matches were your drum sticks. You can make a drum set out of anything!

Uncle Rhoni has big trees in his backyard. You climbed one, or we actually set you up there and you wanted to stay there. You climb everything! Uncle Rhoni put a zip line from tree to tree. It is very cool. You jumped right on and had a blast.

Siti had a bowl of wasabi peas and you were eating them. Siti could not believe it because they are super spicy. You are not afraid of spicy food!

We took Siti to birthday lunch before we left. You and Bailey were sitting on the back of the booth. Siti got some ice cream and you all helped her blow the candle out, and you both ate the ice cream next to Siti. She loved it!

01/23/11 I'll meet you in your dreams...

Hudson,

You said the sweetest thing to me before you went to bed tonight. I came in to tell you night night and you said, "Mamma, I had fun playing with you today." It was just so precious the way that you said it. Then, I told you I would meet you in your dreams. I say this to you every night. You kind of get the concept of dreams, although that's not a easy one. I have always asked you in the mornings, "What did you dream, about?" Then, I will tell you my dreams, and I'll say, " I had a weird dream..." Now, you always say, "I had a weird dream," and you go on and on about it. You use to wake up every morning for about 6 months and say, "I dreamed about Lady Antebellum & The Wiggles." You have seen both in concert! Anyway, tonight I said, "Let's meet at the beach. I will bring the shovel." You said, "Ok, I will bring the sand pail and rake. Daddy is gonna be there too." It was a special moment.

We played with all your puzzles and games today. We have a new puzzle that has about 12 pieces and you connected like 5 or 6 pieces. It was so exciting! You recognize all numbers from 1 to 10 and you have for a long time, so you are not as into this number game that we always use to play.

A sports update - The Jets lost to the Steelers tonight in the AFC Championship and the Bears lost to the Packers in the NFC Championship. So, the Steelers and the Packers advance to the Super Bowl that will take place here in Dallas (actually Arlington) in two weeks. Daddy got us tickets to go, but we are not sure that we are going because it is going to be a zoo. Also, daddy can sell the tickets for $5000 a piece and it seems almost ridiculous not to sell them. The tickets are going for crazy prices. I would love to go to see the Black Eyed Peas at half time!!! We love the BEP!

I love you my love,
Mamma

I love you in all languages, all the way to the stars, through the galaxies and back to earth...

Ella & Hudson

Hudson,

Here are some more sweet pictures of you and Ella and a few of just Ella. Ella is a beautiful little girl. She is very sweet and smart, like you. You and Ella kind of get one another. On your 2nd birthday, you did not nap (I was a so nervous because I knew you were tired) and you were crying as everyone was singing you happy birthday and Ella just came right over and said, "Come on Hudson, it's ok. Get up." It's like she was saying, "Ok, let's go. I love you and your my buddy, but this is your party and you will be ok. Let's go have fun!" It really was so cute!

She really was the only friend you really took to in our first play group. Our playgroup had a about 7 other kids besides Ella and you never really took to them, but you always liked Ella.

Ella & Hudson Annapolis Postcard

Hudson,

Some pictures I am adding to this blog were from last year because they were so precious and so special.

This post card is from Ella. Ella is your best friend and your first friend. You and Ella have a special connection. She moved to Annapolis last year and it was so hard to see them go. Mamma misses Ella's mommy, Anni, so much. Anni is one of the best friend's I had made here in Dallas and she had to go. Ella was the same for you. We went to see their new house in Annapolis. We had so much fun visiting them. You and Ella had such a great time. She sent you this postcard about 2 months ago. It was absolutely precious!

January 23, 2011 Jackie...

I wanted to share this picture with you. This is Jackie, Annette's daughter. She is 15 and you love her. When Annette comes to babysit, she brings Jackie, or her son, Erik. You love to play with them and we are very happy when Annette brings them. They are very sweet, well-mannered children and they love you. Annette loves you so much and you love her. We are very blessed to have Annette. I think you have a crush on Jackie. When you first met her awhile ago, we would ask you who your girlfriend was and you would say, "Jackie."
