Ed
November 21, 2011
Hudson,
The way you talk is absolutely precious. You have the cutest voice, truly! So my favorite thing about your speech right now is when you say a word in the past tense. You get that that ed is past tense and that most words need an ed when talking about something in the past, but you do it with all words. You will say the word in a choppy way, like finish-ed and choose-ed. It really is just too darling and so innocent. The fact that you know ed is past tense fascinates me, but the way a baby turns into a speaking toddler is fascinating to me! You have always had a vast vocabulary for your age.
I love you my sweet baby love, mi amor, Mamma

It Doesn't Seem...
November 14, 2011
So, you are in this phase where you play games before night night. Let me explain. We say prayers, lay in bed, kiss and hug, and I say "I love you. Night Night." Right when I leave your room, before I even get to mine, you start, "Mamma, Mamma, Mamma, check on me," until you start crying if I don't come in. I will walk out and immediately before I even get to my room, it starts over. I think this is mostly a game because you don't do this when Annette is babysitting. There is some validity to it. I think you don't want to miss out on anything, I truly think you want to be where Mommy and Daddy are, and sometimes, I don't think you want to be alone. You also don't have Annette dim the lights when she is babysitting, but you make Mamma and Daddy dim the lights and keep them on. Are you manipulating us? Absolutely. Are we letting you? Basically. Why? Because we love you so much and you have us wrapped around you finger most of the time. However, by the 10th "Mamma, check on me, check on me, check on me," Mamma starts to get upset and this is when it usually ends. I have tried different tactics - not speaking after I say night night. Doesn't really work. I have told you that you have to nap after school if you play these games and it takes you too long to go to sleep. Doesn't work. I have told you that you would get a point if you would get in your bed and go to sleep. Doesn't work. You don't get out of your bed, so that's awesome and positive. You just scream my name for 30-45 minutes, sometimes an hour before you go to bed. If I don't come in after about 2-3 of the name calling, you will call "Daddy." Then, he will come in and you will say, "I want Mamma. Send Mamma in."
Tonight, you were screaming "check on me, Mamma, check on me," and I came in there and you said, "You don't want to check on me. It doesn't seem that you want to check on me." It doesn't "seem." You are too much Hudson!!!
I love you with all my heart. All the way to the moon and the outer galaxies.
xoxo
Remember, my love, you are so fortunate to have a comfortable place to lay your head, in a safe home with a Mamma and Daddy who love you. So many kids around this world, do not have any of these things. Cherish the time that you can get into your bed and have that time to yourself where you can unwind, relax, pray, get warm, cuddle with your pillows and get some Z's. One day, you will be older and you will know what I am talking about.

Piano Lessons with Mr Mike
November 14, 2011
Hudson,
You love piano lessons with Mr. Mike. I am so happy about this. You have really taken to Mr Mike and ask me often, "Do I have piano today?" You have it every Monday. Mr Mike is very patient and nice. Even when you roar at him like a T-Rex. You all came out of class today (I wait in the lobby) and Mr Mike told me that you stopped during your lesson and said, "Hudson loves Mr. Mike." Hudson, you really do have a sweet heart. You care about people. It makes me so proud. Always be kind to others. Honey attracts bees.

Mamma's First Cousins
July 2011
I took a picture with Uncle Rhoni and all my first cousins (except Rachelle). These would be your second cousins. We are all the grandchildren of Fozie and Jennie Rahal, who were my Siti and Gidi. We were all at Uncle Wendell's funeral. Uncle Wendell is Siti's brother and I have many memories of him. Siti was very sad and I was sad for her.
(Back Row) Mamma, Craig Ablah, Gregory Rahal, Ryan Rahal, Christian Ablah, Jeff Rahal, Jordan Rahal, Jason, Rahal
(Front Row) Uncle Rhoni, Leigh Ann Ablah, Lisa Rahal Stearman and Leila Rahal Atyia
The only cousin not pictured is Rachelle Ablah Pulkkila, she is the oldest grandchild and I am the youngest.

A Look Back... My Little Man
Hudson,
I was looking at old pictures the other day and my heart was melting and smiling. You are just growing so fast, too fast. You will always be my baby though. It seems just yesterday you were born and just yesterday that you started walking.
In this picture, you are 22 months and you already look 3! Maybe I should have dressed you in more rompers, but it just never seemed as though you didn't belong in them. You have always looked like a little man - since you were born. You had a full head of hair by 9 or 10 months, which made you look even older. One amazing head of hair! Sometimes Daddy calls you "Benjamin Button," which was this movie about a man who is born old and gets younger with each year. You have always looked older and you have always been wise beyond your sweet years.
I love you my little man! xoxo Mamma

LSU (1) vs ALABAMA (2)
November 6, 2011
Tonight was one of the biggest college football games of the century, No. 1 LSU vs No. 2 Alabama. Some called it the Super Bowl of Tuscaloosa. Daddy screamed "Tiger Bait" all day and had you chanting, "L-S-U, L-S-U." Both teams are in the SEC and both teams are awesome. Whoever won this game was headed to the BCS Championship game. This was for all the marbles.
The game was a battle of kickers and nothing extraordinary happened unless you love defense. In the end #1 LSU defeated #2 Alabama 9-6 in overtime. Daddy was freaking out. He was so happy and I was happy for him.
Coaches:
LSU: Les Miles
ALA: Nick Saban (ex LSU head coach and not one of Mommy's favorites, because he defeated my Sooners in 2003 in the BCS Championship game).
QBs
LSU: Jordan Jefferson & Jarrett Lee
ALA: AJ McCarron
We watched the game at Don and Francis Jones' house. Don and Daddy went to LSU around the same time.
You wouldn't put on your jersey all day because you said it felt "weird", but we finally got you to put it on. You looked so cool, although purple and gold?! Crimson and Cream are so much more handsome - don't tell Daddy!
Your Sensitive Heart...

Video Games
Hudson,
I have two interesting incidents regarding video games. First, we went to meet Melissa and Jack for lunch. The restaurant has a very small space in the back with games. You love any place with games and especially games that dispense candy. Jack was playing this crazy video game with guns and what not so you played the one next to it - it was a karate game. Neither of you really knew what you were doing. You look at the screen and press the buttons. So, I decided to let you put a quarter in and you started pressing the button and this lady was karate chopping and kicking her legs and beating people up. You got very upset and starting bawling. You didn't like it at all. It made me so sad!! However, I was happy to know how sensitive and sweet you are. I also understood why you didn't like it. These video games are too violent these days and our children should not be exposed to all of it. You know when things are bad and not right. You have an intuition about it, even though you love to play with swords and guns, which drives me crazy, but you are boy. Jack just kept pressing the buttons playing away, while my baby was so upset. It's OK to feel upset, confused or sad.
This same thing happened when you, me and Daddy went bowling. There is a game area. You decided you wanted to play the motorcycle game where you ride the moto and navigate your way through a race. We put the quarters in and Daddy played next to you - there were two side by side. Of course you did not want any help and you didn't know how to pay and couldn't steer properly so the guy on the motorcycle kept crashing and running into things. You got upset and started crying saying you didn't like it. Sweet baby. It really upset you that the man kept crashing.
Baby, you have a beautiful and sensitive heart. Don't ever change. A person with a sensitive heart can have sympathy for others. Never be afraid to say your feelings or get upset because it is OK to feel that way and try to understand why you are feeling that way. There is nothing more manly about a strong, yet sensitive man.
I love you sweet baby. Mamma

Halloween 2011 - ROAR!!
October 31, 2011
Hudson,
Could you have been anything else but a T-Rex this Halloween? Absolutely not! This is the year of the T-Rex after all. You are the best T-Rex I have seen. You can emulate one to a tee, even your teacher said so. It is kind of crazy, but very cool how passionate you are about the T-Rex and dinosaurs in general. You are a passionate person and it is an awesome trait! Your Lebanese side is FULL OF PASSION, to say the least! When you love something you go all the way.
We had a fun Halloween. We started at a fall festival in University Park. You played games and got candy every time you won, which you dug. Then, we met the Morgan/Seabury clan for trick or treating. You, Henry and Oliver had a ball. You, of course, led the way, and at one point, you told Daddy that you liked to be in front. Boy oh boy, you are definitely a driver and a leader and you always will be. I clearly see this and it is a great thing. You ran up to those houses, "Trick or Treat!" Candy was involved and you were loving it. All kids love candy, but you really LOVE candy Hudson. We may have a problem. You could eat it all day! Remember, candy doesn't help you grow or make you smarter. It can, however, give you lots of cavities. I know all about cavities! Mamma loves candy and sweets too.
I had so much fun watching you. This is such a fun age for Halloween. You are so sweet and Innocent and it's just a joy to see you smile and have so much fun!!!
Happy Halloween my T-Rex boy! ROAR!! xoxoxo I love you, Mamma
Aunt Stephie, Kennedy and Kade sent that t-shirt to you. It says "Take me to your candy." So apropo!
Oliver (4), Hudson (3), Henry (7) - Oliver was Batman and Henry was Harry Potter
Mamma and Hudson trick or treating at a spooky house! You were fascinated with the smoke and skeletons.
This was your very first play group from when you were a baby. We have an annual Halloween party. You all have lined up on that same wall and taken that same picture every Halloween. It's so sweet! We don't see them as much anymore, but we still have this annual picture. They will always be near and dear to our hearts. From left to right - Jackson, Cort, Stella, John, Charlie, Hudson and Katelyn
