Franco is the neighbor's yardman. He has been with them since we moved into this house 4 years ago. He saw you when you were just a wee babe. He is a hard worker and a very colorful guy. He is Italian, from the South, so that's where he gets his fun personality. He is straight off the boat - accent and all, like someone you would meet on the streets of NYC, not Dallas, Texas. The most amazing thing about Franco is that he is 65. He doesn't look it and he works hard all day like a 20 year old! You always say "Hi Franco," when you see him outside, and sometimes, you will have a conversations with him. He comes every Wednesday and he is there at 8 am when we are leaving to go to school, he's still there when we come home from school and still there at 5!
The other day, he had to work in our back yard. He had to trim Sandy and Rick's (our neighbors) trees that hang over into our back yard. You helped him for over an hour and a half when you got home from school. It was like a play date. It was the cutest! You had an absolute ball and Franco was so patient with you. He only told you not to stand too close to his ladder because he didn't want it to fall on you. He let you gather the leaves, tie them up and he even went and got you your own mini rake. You helped him put big piles of leaves into a trash bag and you worked hard yourself! Afterward, he got two blowers, one small one for you. You thought is was so cool. At first the sound was too loud, but then you blew some leaves and I helped you. You kept saying, "Franco is so cool Mamma." You were having long conversations with him, like a little man, not a little boy. Afterwards, you kept hugging him. It was just so sweet. You like grown ups and you talk well with them. You thought Franco's tree cutting tools, huge ladder and all his tools in general were way cool. It's a blast to watch you have so much fun. Makes my heart smile.
I love you amore mio, Mamma
