Hudson, it is true. You have the most gorgeous hair and it is so hard for Mamma to cut it. People always compliment your hair and so you know it is beautiful. Just remember my love, always let people compliment you. I do not ever want to hear, "I am so handsome," or "People think I am so handsome," or "People always tell me I have great hair." You let others compliment you and you simply say in a humble way, "Thank you," and remember to compliment others. No one likes a braggart.... Anyway - Mamma just went off on a tangent - Anyway, you have amazing hair and it is pretty much your signature trait and has been since you were a baby. It's always longer and bushy and it looks amazing. So, I had not cut you hair in like 3- 4 months. It was really long and it was time. It was in your eyes. I was unsure where to take you in NYC. The same lady from Dallas, Ms Michelle, has been cutting your hair since you were like 18 months. I took you to Sharkey's on 2nd Avenue. The girl there, Emma, gave you the best haircut! I was so excited. She made it look natural and not freshly cut. I think she did a better job than Ms Michelle. So, maybe we will just keep coming to Sharkey's in NYC - we need lots of excuses to come into the city when we move to CT.
I love you my Samson,
Mamma
A note on Samson, a character in the Bible: Samson's mother received a visit from an angel, who told her she would give birth to an unusual son, a Nazirite, and not to cut his hair. Samson fell in love with Delilah. She found out that he had great strength because he had never cut his hair. She told the leaders of the Philistine nation who cut his hair while he was sleeping. Mamma's Moral: be careful who you fall in love with and don't ever let anyone take your strength from you.
