Your Sensitive Heart...

November 5, 2011

Video Games

Hudson,
I have two interesting incidents regarding video games. First, we went to meet Melissa and Jack for lunch. The restaurant has a very small space in the back with games. You love any place with games and especially games that dispense candy. Jack was playing this crazy video game with guns and what not so you played the one next to it - it was a karate game. Neither of you really knew what you were doing. You look at the screen and press the buttons. So, I decided to let you put a quarter in and you started pressing the button and this lady was karate chopping and kicking her legs and beating people up. You got very upset and starting bawling. You didn't like it at all. It made me so sad!! However, I was happy to know how sensitive and sweet you are. I also understood why you didn't like it. These video games are too violent these days and our children should not be exposed to all of it. You know when things are bad and not right. You have an intuition about it, even though you love to play with swords and guns, which drives me crazy, but you are boy. Jack just kept pressing the buttons playing away, while my baby was so upset. It's OK to feel upset, confused or sad.

This same thing happened when you, me and Daddy went bowling. There is a game area. You decided you wanted to play the motorcycle game where you ride the moto and navigate your way through a race. We put the quarters in and Daddy played next to you - there were two side by side. Of course you did not want any help and you didn't know how to pay and couldn't steer properly so the guy on the motorcycle kept crashing and running into things. You got upset and started crying saying you didn't like it. Sweet baby. It really upset you that the man kept crashing.

Baby, you have a beautiful and sensitive heart. Don't ever change. A person with a sensitive heart can have sympathy for others. Never be afraid to say your feelings or get upset because it is OK to feel that way and try to understand why you are feeling that way. There is nothing more manly about a strong, yet sensitive man.

I love you sweet baby. Mamma

Halloween 2011 - ROAR!!

October 31, 2011

Hudson,

Could you have been anything else but a T-Rex this Halloween? Absolutely not! This is the year of the T-Rex after all. You are the best T-Rex I have seen. You can emulate one to a tee, even your teacher said so. It is kind of crazy, but very cool how passionate you are about the T-Rex and dinosaurs in general. You are a passionate person and it is an awesome trait! Your Lebanese side is FULL OF PASSION, to say the least! When you love something you go all the way.

We had a fun Halloween. We started at a fall festival in University Park. You played games and got candy every time you won, which you dug. Then, we met the Morgan/Seabury clan for trick or treating. You, Henry and Oliver had a ball. You, of course, led the way, and at one point, you told Daddy that you liked to be in front. Boy oh boy, you are definitely a driver and a leader and you always will be. I clearly see this and it is a great thing. You ran up to those houses, "Trick or Treat!" Candy was involved and you were loving it. All kids love candy, but you really LOVE candy Hudson. We may have a problem. You could eat it all day! Remember, candy doesn't help you grow or make you smarter. It can, however, give you lots of cavities. I know all about cavities! Mamma loves candy and sweets too.

I had so much fun watching you. This is such a fun age for Halloween. You are so sweet and Innocent and it's just a joy to see you smile and have so much fun!!!

Happy Halloween my T-Rex boy! ROAR!! xoxoxo I love you, Mamma

Aunt Stephie, Kennedy and Kade sent that t-shirt to you. It says "Take me to your candy." So apropo!

Oliver (4), Hudson (3), Henry (7) - Oliver was Batman and Henry was Harry Potter

Mamma and Hudson trick or treating at a spooky house! You were fascinated with the smoke and skeletons.

This was your very first play group from when you were a baby. We have an annual Halloween party. You all have lined up on that same wall and taken that same picture every Halloween. It's so sweet! We don't see them as much anymore, but we still have this annual picture. They will always be near and dear to our hearts. Oklahoma City for the Weekend...

October 1, 2011

We went to see Siti, Uncle Rhoni and Bailey this weekend. We had so much fun! You played with Bailey the whole time and you all played so well. So well! The best you all have ever played. You all are getting a little older now and you really enjoy one another's company. It is so sweet!

You love going to Siti's and you get very excited when I tell you we are going. I cannot tell you until the last minute. We get to Siti's and you start surveying the house for food and candy. It is so cute. Of course, Siti always has snacks out and tons of candy - it's all for you and you love it.

We went to Uncle Rhoni's and you and Bailey played in the backyard along time. Then, they came over for dinner at Siti's. You and Bailey ran all over and played until after 10 pm! Way too late, but you all were so cute. You were very protective of Bailey and got made at Uncle Rhoni because you thought he was trying to fight bailey with the sword (he was just playing of course). You said, "Uncle Rhoni, I don't like you, you fighted Bay-wee!" It was the cutest. Siti got you this sword at the Dollar Tree and it caused complete pandemonium the whole trip! All you wanted was that sword. It broke the first 5 minutes that you got it and we had to go get another one, and then we got one for Bailey too, and she played and played with you. Then, on our way out of town, Siti broke it on accident, you started wailing and she went up to the Dollar Tree to buy another one because she felt so terrible. Oh, that sword! It caused a lot of trouble.

I have to tell you this as well - you accidentally hit Uncle Rhoni with the sword while you all were fighting (for fun) and it hurt Uncle Rhoni, but you all were just play fighting. Anyway, you were worried and told Uncle Rhoni you were sorry. However, later, after they left, you said, "Mamma, I hit Uncle Rhoni on da ear, I did not mean to. I am sorry," and you just started bawling. I mean uncontrollably. It was the sweetest moment. I felt terrible for you. You felt so bad about it. You have such a big heart Hudson. You worry when someone gets hurt and I love this abiut you.

Also, the first night, we were trying to find a movie for you all to watch and you wanted dinosaurs and Bailey wanted Cinderella. Oh, the differences between a boy and girl! You wanted to watch a movie so badly with her, you finally said, "Ok fine, fine, we can watch Cinderella." It was so cute!

You all played all say Sunday too. You stayed up after 10 again! We don't normally do this, but you all don't get to see one another all the time. It was a fun trip! You and bailey truy love one another. It is so sweet. I kept telling you that you all were like brother and sister and that you all had to stick together as a team, protect and look out for one another.

We love Siti, Uncle Rhoni and Bailey!!

xoxo I love you sweet boy, Mamma

On the way home to Dallas, I took you to the Museum of History in Norman, OK. I had heard there were dinosaurs. It was cool. We had fun!

After School Treat and Tree Climbing

May 25, 2011

My love,

After school, we often go to Weirs Furniture store or The Highland Park Pharmacy. Why? So, you can get a sweet treat. Anything sweet is your favorite. At The Pharmacy, you get gumballs and rings or bouncy balls from the prize machine. Once in awhile, you get a vanilla milkshake. You are so excited to go to The Pharmacy and I expect you will have very fond memories of it. It is special and it's right down the street from us. One time, Siti gave you a $25 gift certificate to The Pharmacy. It was so thoughtful! Weir's has a candy shop in the back. You know exactly where it is. It's a big store, but you walk right to the candy shop. There, you get a chocolate chip cookie. You are precious and the ladies always comment about how cute you are. You always say, "Thank you" so happily as you rush to take the cookie out of the bag and wolf it down. You can wolf down some sweets.

You always climb the tree on the side of the house. Today, you got really high! You are fearless my love!

xxoo I love you my love, Mamma

Siti's Visit to Dallas 2-28-2011

Hudson,

Siti came to visit today and we all had so much fun. Before she comes, you get very excited, and of course wonder if she is bringing you candy, because she always does. She says to me, "I want him to always have good memories." She likes to feed you. She likes to feed in general, and spent a lot of time asking me and Uncle Rhoni if we wanted more to eat, or "Did you get enough?" Or, "You did not eat anything." It's a Lebanese thing. Eat up. Mangia, as the Italians say.

I did not tell you she was coming before I took you to school. That would have been a disaster and you would not have been able to concentrate. So, I picked you up from school, and said, "I have a surpise for you, and you say, "Mamma! Mamma, What?!" I told you that Siti was waiting at home for you and your face lit up. You asked, "Is she bringing me candy?" When we drove up, you saw her and you smiled from ear to ear. It was so precious! From the moment you got out of the car, you went crazy. You were so keyed up. I could not calm you down. I kept telling Siti that you were so fired up and that you needed to calm down, and she said, "Of course he is. He's just excited." She thinks everything you do is wonderful. You all had so much fun. We made a fire and you and Siti sat in front of it for awhile and talked. She did bring you candy, of course. Siti loves you so very much and you two have a special bond. She has spent a lot of time snuggling in bed with you! She always says, "Who does Siti love?" You say, "Hudson!"

When I was little, she would said, "Who is the most beautiful woman in the world?" I would say, "Mamma!" Then she would say, "Who does Mamma love?" I would say, "Me!" She is a passionate woman, full of love, your Siti. We're so blessed to have her.
