Turn the lights on Mamma 2-17-11

Hudson,

Ok you said maybe the cutest thing ever tonight. Daddy read you books and put you in your crib. I came in to say night night. You said, "Mamma, turn the lights on." I said, "Baby, it's time to go night night." Drum roll.... boom boom boom... You then said, "Mamma, turn the lights on. I want to see your pretty face." Are you just a slice of apple pie? You just about melted my heart. Music to my ears. Boy, am I in trouble. Are you going to be saying this to the ladies? If so, there will be a lot knocking at your door - that face, that brain, that charm. Boy oh boy! Trouble!

You say the cutest things. You are so funny Hudson. You truly have a sense of humor and you have since you were very young. Even your teachers see it. Annette sees it. You make us all laugh. You just have this funny way about you. I asked you for a bite of your dinner. Daddy and I do this because you don't like to share. Haha. You said, "Mamma, you can go get your own bowl and have your own spaghetti and spinach." The way you said it was just hilarious, hard to convey in writing. It's very logical too and you always come up with logical responses. I will write about that another time. We battled out siesta today. You started in your crib. You kept crawling out and walking into my room. I told you I was going to have to put you back in your crib, and you said, "Well...I am just gonna keep getting out of that crib." It was hard not to laugh, the way you said it.

This morning, you went to a play date at The Lamplighter School. It was a play date interview. Can you imagine? I never thought we would be in this school game, but here we are. Seems you have no choice in Dallas. We are on lists, I have had to fill out applications and write long essays, we have visited tons of schools, you have had to have a speech test, you already had a one on one interview at St. Alcuin Montessori. It has been endless. This was your first play date though, so I was nervous (did not show it though). We had to go to the school and a few teachers come and take you all in little groups and play with you. I guess they watch you all and who knows what they are looking for. It's all kind of ridiculous. I know that you are a superstar. I told you we had a play date meeting. I was going to the meeting to meet with other Mommys and you were going to get to play with Coco (she goes to your present school and was going to be there). We were walking in and you immediately were suspect. You are so intuitive and smart. Your mind starts going and trying to figure things out. You said, "Mamma, I want to go to your meeting." So precious. I said, "Baby, you get to go play and have fun while mommy meets with the other Mommys," and you started crying. Poor my baby. I was feeling so bad, but I knew you would be ok so I stood strong. I told you how much fun you were going to have. A teacher tried to come up and console you, but you wanted no part of it. You saw the other kids putting on their name tags on, and we put yours on and you started to calm down. Then, they called your group. I was nervous and you looked so sad, but the teacher picked you up out of all the kids, and I said, "I'll see you in 30 minutes. Have fun baby." You just gave me that weepy look, but you weren't crying. Of course, you came out like a champ. The teacher said you did great. You told me you had fun in your play date meeting and you told me again later that day, "Mamma, I had fun at my play date." I was so happy! You are well-rounded and I knew you could do it!

This morning before we went to our play date, you and Daddy were having breakfast. Daddy was holding his morning cup of joe and you said to him, "Daddy, I want to grow up to be a Daddy like like you. I can grow up and have coffee." Daddy thought it was so precious and it was!

I love you my love, Mamma

Missing Siestas 2/15/201

Hudson my love,

Today, was a weird day. You did not wake up in the greatest of moods, however you opened Siti's Valentine's present and you were happy for the 10 minutes you got to eat the sweethearts that she sent. You called and thanked he and it made her day.

i was tired all day. I just couldn't get with it. Mamma had a short fuse today and I feel awful about it. You don't want to nap anymore and I am not too happy about it. You have always been a great napper and I never thought this day would come. I have told you that if you do not want to nap, then you had to take 2 hours of quiet time. I told you that Mommy needs a break from the day and you do too. The first time, you were great. You did not get up off the couch. If you needed me, you called my name. You even told Daddy, "Daddy, it's my quiet time." You now call it "big boy time." I will say, "You need s siesta today, you are tired," and you say "No Mommy, I want big boy time." I tell you "It is not big boy time, it is quiet time. Big boys take naps too." Lately, you are getting up a lot during "big boy/quiet time." Today, you got up a lot and quiet time wasn't so quiet. Mommy was not so happy. I have told you that you have to take siestas again and when you are thee, we can try quiet time again. We will see how that goes. I have a feeling that you are just going to kick and scream. I put you in your crib today and you crawled right out. We must get you a bog boy bed soon anyway and that's going to be a whole new phase!

We then went to play with Melissa and Jack. I wanted to go see Melissa's new house. They jsyt moved and I am so excited for her. You and Jack have not been getting a long lately. I am sad about it. He is 5 weeks younger than you and he has an older brother, Cash, who is 5. You think cash is super cool and spent many playdates following Cash around and ignoring jack. HOwever, you and Jack play well on the days Cash is in school, but lately, you all have been bickering a lot and hitting, pushing and not sharing. Jack would not share his toys with you today and he threw a stick at you and then you pushed him because he did not want to share his guitar with yo. It was one thing after the other and it's both of your faults. The same thing happens when he comes over here. I am not sure what do do about it and hope you all grow out of this phase with one another because Melissa is such a dear fiend for me. We had to leave earkly because you two just weren't playing well together. Maybe it's some sort of competition ot something. I am not sure.

You did say the sweetest things in between all the weirdness today. We were at Playwisely class today, a very neat class we have been taking since you were 18 months. During class, you hugged me and said, "I am sorry for gettig mad at you today mamma" It was si sweet!!!!! God I love you! Then, when I put you to bed tonight, I said what I say every night, "God bless oyu and keep you safe and healhty always and thank you God for hudson." You said, "Ans thank you God for Mamma." It was the sweetest, most loving moment! I LOVE YOU!

Remember baby, there will always be bad days, crazy days, or ambivolent days. You have some bad days. It's impossible for every day to be great. That's not real life. Those days make you stronger and they make you appreciate the good days even more...... BUT, tomorrow is there for you and you can choose to wake up smile, see the sun shining and have a better day.
It's a choice. Choose to smile. Life is short.

I love you amore mio, my love, my heart... Mamma
