The Year of The T-Rex!

August 22, 2011

Hudson,

When this year passes, Daddy and I will be able to sum it up in two words to describe you - T-REX, aka Tyrannosaurus Rex. Hudson, a metamorphosis has happened within you - you are now a T-Rex and not a human being. Where did my baby go? You can literally emulate this 60 million year old angry fossil to a tee. It's a bit frightening, but also rather funny. You know everything about it. If there is a dinosaur that looks similar to the T Rex, you will explain quite logically, "No Mamma, that is not a T-Rex, it has three claws and T Rex's don't have those spikes there (while pointing to an area on the dino's body)." OK, thank you Hudson for explaining that to me.

When you are acting like T-Rex, you literally put your hands close to your belly, holding them close together, to make them smaller, you put two claws out on each hand and you prance like a T Rex. When you read this as an adult, just watch the T Rex in Jurassic park - you can walk just like that T-Rex! You roar loud and we have to say, "No roaring," half the time - when family comes over or we go to a restaurant. When you get really mad, sad, or upset because you can't have something, you go into T Rex mode. Sometimes you just pull it out randomly around people or kids, with a loud roar, and we are like, "He's in a dinosaur phase, what can we tell you?!"

I am not sure what all this means. The T Rex may be your psuedo-self, or your trapped anger coming out in the form of a roar and T-Rex prance! Whatever it is, you have passion for this dinosaur. You love all dinosaurs and have now for the whole year. The T Rex, though, he is your favorite and you are well aware that he is a meat eater and not the nicest of all dinosaurs.

I love you my T REX! YOU ARE MY T REX!!! xoxoxo Mamma

Fun Facts about T Rex:
-Tyrannosaurus means "tyrant lizard king."
-It was 40 feet long
-It was 15-20 feet high
-It weighed 5-7 tons
-Lived in the late Cretaceous Period - about 85-65 million years ago
-Fossil remains were found in the USA (including Texas), Canada and East Asia
-T Rex's arms were only about 3 feet long
-It was one of the largest carnivores in its environment

ROAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. ask your Siti about my obsession with The Incredible Hulk when I was younger - how I use to make the face and roar like he did... HA!

p.s.s. For later use - Probably not the most gentlemanly thing to do when trying to ask a girl out- roaring at her... Let's leave the roaring for this toddler phase of your life. HAHAHAHA. I love you!

You can emulate the T Rex to perfection. It's crazy. You walk around like this a lot, even at the beach in Rockaway, NY.

Our Trip to Rockaway Beach, NY

June 24, 2011

After New York City, we went to visit one of mommy's best friends, Natasha, in Rockaway Beach, NY. We had a blast. You definitely did not sleep enough and passed out at 5 o'clock on our last day of the trip! The next morning, we were cabbing it to the airport and you fell asleep in the cab. I think the whole trip just wore you out, however, we had a blast!

Natasha's sister, Dawn, lives there as well. She has two kids, Reese who is 5 and Chace who is 2. You had a terrible crush on Reese, who was beautiful. Now, being that she was 5 and a girl, she kind of thought she was older and cooler, as little girls do, and she had some older cousins that she was really in to. She wanted to play with them one day and you wanted to play with her. It made Mommy sad, but you were fine. She is very bossy, smart and independent, so you all clashed a bit, because you are similar, but you sure liked her! You told me she was pretty a handful of times and you followed her around a lot!

The beach was a blast and we played in the sand and ran in the ocean. One day, you helped a bunch of kids make a sand castle. It was so cute! You went up and just started helping.

It was a blast and I had so much fun seeing Natasha! I had some great times with her in the city and I miss her very much!

xoxo Mamma
