Christmas in Oklahoma City

December 23 & 24 2011

We had such a fun time in Oklahoma City for Christmas!

You all had fun wrestling with Daddy and Uncle Rhoni.

We went bowling one night and it was fun and also interesting. Uncle Rhoni and Kris thought they were going to beat Daddy and Mamma and talked a big game, but Mamma and Daddy beat them. Uncle Rhoni was not real thrilled and they kind of gave up, and by the end, were ready to leave. Can you imagine? Your Uncle Rhoni still a bad sport after all these years. Your mamma grew up delaing with this - Uncle Rhoni being a bad sport. I let him win many times, because honestly, I didn't care if I won or lost, and heck, I am pretty competitive, but quietly. Now Hudson, you were not a real good sport that night either. Bailey was getting a few strikes and you were not and so you pouted a lot and got mad and went to sit by yourself. You are not a great sport! You can get really mad when you lose, like really mad! I am hoping you grow out of it. BUT, you can't be like that. Do you want to be like that when you are Uncle Rhoni's age? You are going to lose in life my love, you have to lose with dignity and pride - then, you get up and try again to win. Yes, it is more fun to win and you should always want to win, but when and if you lose, lose with dignity.

We had a blast at Uncle Rhoni's opening presents. It was ridiculous how many presents there were! Siti especially went crazy with you and Bailey. You and Bailey opened present after present and kept asking where more were. Siti was so happy watching you all open presents. It gave her so much joy! We gave Uncle Vic the orange Texas Longhorn sweatshirt and he loved it. Him and his horns.

You and Bailey played so well together. You shared and opened game after game. You are pals and such sweet first cousins!

You and Uncle Rhoni had a sword fight.

Uncle Rhoni gave you this awesome karoke machine with dinosaurs all over it. We played with it when we got home. You had so much fun singing with it and so did Mamma, haha. I might use it more than you. I love it!

Merry Christmas my love!!! We love you! You are so loved!

Fossil Hunting with My Rock Hammer

December 29, 2011

Today, we went to our favorite fossil hunting area by the waterfall. I let you bring this small rock hammer and you were so excited. We had so much fun and we went on this adventure walk we had never done before. We awaked along the rock wall, the edge was very thin, and of course, you were not scared! You led the way.

I love you my adventurer - that's what you are (just please be careful and remember Mamma when you are doing something dangerous)... xoxo amore mio, Mamma

Hudson Riding the Scooter

December 29, 2011

So, Mamma made this decision that you were going to start riding your bike this week. I talked to Daddy and told him I needed his help - so, we went full speed ahead. We were determined. We had gotten you a 12" Spiderman bike with training wheels for your 3rd birthday, and you will get it out here and there, but you have never show that much interest. You can ride your tricycle great and always seem to go to it. Santa also wrote you a letter and told you that he wanted you to get outside a lot and learn to ride your bike, because it was time - you would be 4 in April.

So, we started with the scooter that Big John and SuSu gave you for Christmas. You needed to get the steering down first, which you kind of had, but you need to totally get it before you can ride a bike well and not crash. Well you got it, you must have had it more than I knew. You were scooting all around, steering great. Daddy and I were so proud of your steering! Daddy got you this precious monkey helmet from the bike shop and we told you could not ride your scooter or your bike without it - ever. You get that. Safety first.

We love you so much and are so proud of you! Daddy and Mamma

Ella & Karli Xmas 2011

Hudson,

Ella sent you the top picture during the holidays. The bottom is a picture of Ella and Karli in front of their tree. We miss Ella and Anni so much and I hope we can go see them soon. You and Ella have not seen one another in so long and you all need to see one another!

xoxo Mamma

Play Date at Dillon's House

December 29, 2011

Today, we had a play date with one of your classmates, Dillon Brandt. He is 5. You all had so much fun! You played pirates in his backyard - he followed your lead. He wanted to play Logos. You all were so cute and shared the same chair to watch TV and really got along well. He has a little sister, Maddie, and she watched TV with you all too. We stayed for family dinner - Daddy came to Dillon's house. Dillon's Daddy made a big fire in the back and you and Dillon ran from the fire to the house like 50 times! You all had a so much fun. You accidentally hurt Dillon, I am not sure what happened, but he started crying. You felt so bad, and I felt bad for you because you were upset. You were pacing in his living room. You helped his little sister get him ice for his boo boo. He was OK and it was minor, just boys playing. I think you took it harder than he did. You have such a sweet heart baby. Your sympathy is beautiful - keep it always. I love you so much.

xoxoxo Mamma

You jammed out on Dillon's drums, while him and his mom played the piano!

Hudson's Riding a Bike!

December 29, 30 & 31 2011

So, we worked with you on your 12" Spiderman bike and you were doing great, riding steering and always wearing your helmet. But, Daddy realized that maybe it was too small now. So, we went to the bike store, because first of all, Daddy wanted to get Mamma a bike for Christmas and second of all, we thought we may get you a new one now that you seemed serious about riding it. We all walked into the bike shop and you immediately went to this 16" blue, pirate bike and you rode it around the store about 20 times! That was it. That was your bike. So, Mamma and Hudson walked out of the bike store with new bikes - Daddy's present! Thank you Daddy! I explained to you that this was the first bike I had gotten in about 14 years. The last bike I had was in LA while I was in college at UCLA. Someone took my mountain bike from the back alley behind by apartment. I told you this and you listened very intently. Then you said about the smartest thing any 3.5 year old could ever say! I said, "someone took my bike without asking me," and you said, "They stole it?" They stole it! How do you know this word "stole"? I was avoiding the word not knowing if you knew what it meant. Good God child, you are smart! "They stole it" he says!

I was very excited about my new bike and excited for you. You couldn't' wait to get on your bike. Needless to say, you rode your new bike great. Daddy did a great job helping you. Now, you want to ride everyday hands down. You said, you wanted to wake up every morning and ride. Daddy took you on a ride with him on his bike and you on yours. Now, we go on rides a lot. You cannot believe how great you ride your bike! We are not surprised. You are so athletic and so excellent at anything you try! You can do anything you put you mind to my love - anything! I KNOW IT. Daddy and I KNOW IT. WE BELIEVE IN YOU!

We love you our bike riding boy, Daddy & Mamma

Happy New Year! 2012 Here We Come!

December 31, 2011

For New Years Eve, Daddy took me on a date to see Les Miserables at the AT & T Performng Arts Center. It really is a beautiful theater and Dallas has spent millions and millions on arts and culture - it's commendable. It was a perfect date, especially since I'm pregnant and can't drink and let my hair down! It was my first time to see Les Mis. Daddy has seen it many times and he loves it so he was excited to take me. I LOVED it! It was amazing. The performers were outstanding. Someday, we will take you to see it and you will watch the struggles of the ex-convict Jean Valjean.

Daddy and Mommy both love Broadway shows, and think, you have already seen one at 3- The Lion King on Broadway in NYC. You are so cultured already my love.

Fact: Les Misérables means "The Poor Ones, "The Wretched Poor" or "The Victims." It was written by Victor Hugo and is considered one of the greatest novels of the 19th century.

Happy New year my love, mi amore! This is going to be a very big year for you, full of change and adventure with a move, a new baby brother, a new city, a new house and a new school. It's going to be a wonderful adventure my love. Remember, life is an adventure - always new opportunities to learn and grow. Daddy and Mommy will always be with you and love you like crazy! CRAZY! I love you like CRAZY - it hurts. xoxo
