Today, you wanted to turn on Lady Antebellum and jam out. I was so happy because we had not listened to them or watched the TiVo recording in so long.
I know I have blogged about this other times, but I want you to really understand how this band had a major influence on all of our lives because of you. From the age of 2 to 3, literally more than a year, we listened to them and jammed out to them everyday. You would wake up and say, "Lady Antebellum!" I swear. You were not even 2! Every morning, you would tell Daddy and me us that you dreamed about them. I always say, "What did you dream about my love?" and you would say, "Lady Antebellum." Who even knows if a 2-year-old gets the abstract concept of dreaming, but that was your standard answers, probably because you loved them.
I TiVoed one of their concerts and I swear you watched it 100s of times. I would turn it on and you would bring your drum set in front of the TV and you would watch the whole thing, which was an hour, drum and jam. I would usually sing or play the guitar. You love Charles, Hillary and Dave and you know all their names. PLUS, we took you to see them in concert! That's right. I can assure you, you were the only 2 year old there. I don't think you could believe it they were in front of your face. Daddy got us amazing seats so you could see them perfectly. It must have been so hard for a 2-year-old to process after seeing them so many times on TV. We had a blast taking you.
It was almost sad when you stopped watching them everyday and being so obsessed with them. Dinosaurs took over! You still like them, but the obsession is gone. Who knows what caught your eye that first day I turned that concert on the TV when you were 2, but whatever it was, you stared at that TV and did not move!

Fun Fact: The group got their name when they were photographing "antebellum" homes. The antebellum architectural style describes the large plantation homes in the American South. While photographing the houses one of the group said that there's a great band name in there, and they adopted the Lady Antebellum name shortly after.

This is the very first Lady A song I sang to you and for some reason, you loved it and asked me to keep singing it. We were outside, you were drumming on the bushes and you kept saying, "Sing it again Mamma." What a beautiful memory!
