Hudson,
Every since we told you that you were going to have a baby brother, you have wanted to name him Buck Knife. Yep. It's true. You are not joking. Buck Knife Squires!! This has been an ongoing thing and you have told most anyone that asks that you want to name him Buck Knife. You are all boy- all boy! You have a fascination with guns, swords and knives. You really became fascinated with buck knives because of a movie called "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs." There is a character named Buck who escapes the wrath of a Baryonyx (a ferocious meat eating dinosaur) named Rudy. He jumps out of the Rudy's mouth, grabs one of his giant teeth on the way out and makes a buck knife out of it. Boy, you thought that was cool (it actually was)! Of course, I think these weapons are mostly dangerous, ESP guns, and didn't think you would ever have any. Well, I was wrong and succumbed to your boy tendencies, because I see that it's natural, and Daddy says "He's a boy! It's normal." However, do we think naming baby boy Squires Buck Knife is a little far? Ha! It's so freaking cute and comical. I said the other day, "Baby, it's a cute name, but don't you think it's a bit aggressive (yes, you know what this word means)?" You said, "OK maybe you are right Mamma. It can be his nick name." Buck Knife Squires!!
I love you amore, Mamma
This is Buck from Ice Age holding his Buck Knife! Yep, he is a weasel, but he is tough as nails. You gotta love him!
I am blogging for you my Hudson. I was writing a journal, but writing was wearing me out. So, I thought I would journal online. It's easier!

Moving - In Transit - Visit to Shreveport
May 28 & 29 2012
After the move out of our house in Dallas and staying at the Four Seasons for 4 days, we went to Shreveport to see Daddy's family. You had a great time! You played and played with Squires and Jackson. You still think Jackson is the greatest. Squires threw you really high in the pool and you thought that was awesome. Aunt Shannon, Squires, Jackson and Jackson's friend, Daniel, took you to the Science museum. You had such a blast with Squires and his sweet friend, Daniel, who is so nice to you. You got this yellow bracelet that you would not take off from the museum. You spent the night at Aunt Shannon's the first night and watched TV with her and got to stay up late. You loved that. Then, you spent the night with Big John and SuSu the second night. They loved being with you and spending quality time with you. Big John let you get all his knives out. I walked in and they were all on the floor and you were just staring at them. You think his collections of guns and knives are beyond cool. You just have to always be careful with them! Daddy got Mommy a hotel room and I got to sleep in both nights and get some Mommy time. This was super great for pregnant Mommy. We will miss being close to Daddy's family, but they will come visit and we will too.
xoxo

Hunting Gear from Scotty, Squires & Jackson
December 25, 2012
Scotty, Squires and Jackson gave you this hunting gear for Christmas. It was their old gear. You thought it was pretty cool and put the waders and hat on. You did look so cute. You think guns are pretty cool, much to my dismay. I guess I couldn't stop it. You are a boy. You all find them somehow. You will use sticks if you don't have toy ones. I am getting better with the whole notion. Somehow, I thought I could keep them away - HAHA. Can I say, what silly thinking of me!
Personally, guns are not my favorite. You say you are going to hunt someday "like Jackson." You were at the farm and you saw him kill a bird and I think that was confusing for you. You kept asking me why he did that and that you wanted to do it because he did. I am not sure killing animals is in your nature. You seem somewhat sad and conflicted about it. I am not even sure it's in your Daddy's nature. He has been hunting, but not a lot. However, if it is something you are truly interested in someday, I won't keep you from it. Daddy can teach you the proper way and train you - that's the only way I will allow it. I probably won't be able to keep you away from hunting, especially with Daddy's side of the family being hunters. Look, some people do it as sport and to each their own, but personally, I don't see what a person gains by killing another animal, but that's me...
I love you, Mamma
