God Stay in Here With Me...

September 18, 2011

Tonight, when you went to bed, you were saying prayers with Daddy and you said,
"Jesus take care of Mommy and Daddy, God stay in here with me." Such a beautiful and sweet thing to ask for Hudson.

Lately, you have been a bit scared. You tell us there is a monster in your room and we tell you there is no such thing. You yell my name every 5 minutes and say, "Mommy, check on me in 5 minutes. MOMMY! Check on me in 5 minutes!!" You want a light on, so we dim the light to the lowest level. .... My baby love, it is ok to be scared sometimes and I can sympathize more than you will ever understand. However, I truly hope for you that you are not a generally scared person. Your Mommy was scared for so much of her life until I had you, and then, I realized there was nothing to be scared of!! Sure, there will be things that scare you here and there - that's life, but don't be afraid of the dark my love. You are never alone. God and Jesus are always with you and Mommy and Daddy are always close by. I tell you every night, "Mommy is never far away." The dark is a beautiful thing. It is the time of day when the moon comes out and shines over Earth and sends you beautiful dreams and sweet love. The moon is our friend. We talk to him often and you love him very much. How could he come out if there was no darkness?

We love you amore mio! Mommy and Daddy

"I can see, and that is why I can be happy, in what you call the dark, but which to me is golden. I can see a God-made world, not a man made world."

Rudy and rough housing 3-7-2011

OK, you are still obsessed with Ice Age. Today, we played dinosaurs. I was the big scary T-Rex, Rudy, and you were the Mamma T-Rex protecting your babies. I would attack you and you would attack me. We walked all over the neighborhood looking for Rudy and the Mamma T-Rex. We found them and they were in a brawl. You said the Mamma T-Rex was winning. You had your binoculars, camera and worker hat (with a light that I taped onto it).

You got a little rough on the trampoline while we were playing dinosaurs. You can get aggressive Hudson. When you and Daddy are rough housing, you always like to get that extra hit or kick. I am not sure what this means and don't ever want you to be too aggressive and I don't want you hitting other people! Hitting is not good in any way. I am hoping it is just the little boy in you. You seem to think it is hilarious when you get hit or pushed by Daddy while you all are rough housing. You like to play dodge ball in the trampoline and also think is hilarious when you get hot by a ball or hit someone. Again, I am hoping this is the boy in you! I want you to be a rough and tumble boy, I like that, but I do worry sometimes because I am a mamma. Daddy says, "It's good. He's tough, He's a boy." You boys are crazy sometimes!

I always tell you that girls are flowers and boys are rough and tough. I tell you that you have to be sweet, gentle and respectful to girls and that you cannot play with girls the same way you play with boys. I will ask, "What are girls?" You respond, "flowers." We were at a birthday party last weekend and you were in the bounce house with about 10 kids. There was a little girl, and I said, "be careful of the little girl." She fell down and you tried to help her up. It was so sweet! Always be that way my love. Always help little girls up when they fall.

By the way, I am thinking all this dinosaur watching is scaring you a bit. You were scared tonight going to bed and you are rarely like that. You did not want to sleep in your bed. You kept saying, "I don't want to sleep a lone. I want to sleep in your bed." It made me sad! Then, you wanted the lights on. You are so aware and so intelligent, you may go through a scared phase. This is normal, but always remember that Mamma and Daddy are close by. We are never far away, You are never alone. God is always with you, protecting you. Whenever you feel alone, think of somewhere beautiful you want to be with the people you love. Put your hand on your heart and listen to it beating and remember that it is beating in my chest too.

I love you my rough and tough one, Mamma
