A Look Back - The Huge T Rex

November 22, 2011

Hudson, you are 3.5 years old here.  We went to the Heard Museum in McKinney, Texas to see the dinosaur exhibit.  You loved this gigantic T Rex, of course!  You looked at him and examined him for some time.  Hudson, I am writing this blog entry on July 10, 2012, you are 4 years and 3 months now.  You should know something.  You started loving dinosaurs when you were 2 and you still LOVE them.  It's actually very cool.  You know the names and whether they are herbivores or carnivores, and Hudson, you knew the names a long time ago!!  It's amazing.  "No Mommy, that it is not a T Rex, it is an Allosaurus.  A T Rex has two claws."  You told me there when you were barley 3.  T Rex has always been your favorite, although, you do realize that he is a meat eater and ate the other dinosaurs and so you get that T Rex was mean - that's when you told me that you think you want to hang with the plant eaters now!  Many kids go in and out of phases, but dinosaurs have stuck with you.   You wanted to be a Paleontologist for the last two years.  I think your passion for them is way cool and you are VERY passionate about them!  You have like 50 dinosaurs and I am not kidding.  If you grow out of this phase (which will be sad),  your baby brother can play with all your dino and you can teach him all about them.  That's the only toy you picked out for the last two years.  We could have a dinosaur toy shop.  You can sit and play with them for a long time.  You set up battles and they attack one another.  It's usually T Rex against all the plant eaters.  I love you my little T Rex!  ROAR!!!  xoxo Mamma

Christmas at Home in Dallas

December 25 & 26 2011

HO HO HO! Merry Christmas!

After New York City and OKC, we finally celebrated Christmas at our house. It was great to get home and prepare for Santa Claus and watch you wake up in the morning and open all your presents. That brought Daddy and I so much joy!

First and foremost, Christmas is Jesus' birthday, so happy birthday Jesus!

Luke 1:35 The angel answered, "The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God."

You sprinkled reindeer feed all over the lawn the night before Christmas. You were so precious!

Your music room had lots of new gifts from Santa, including the new drum set (below). We left milk and cookies out for Santa and you wrote him a note. It was so sweet!

You loved all your new toys. You had such a blast opening your presents and we loved watching you. Daddy gave Mommy lots of awesome presents! H was generous, as always. You jammed on your drums and you also put on the waders and hunting hat that Squires, Jackson and Scotty gave you. You really liked the lasso that Santa gave you as well. It was special morning. We love you Hudson!

p.s. Hudson. be a good boy like Santa said. He wrote you this long note about how you have been good and so he brought you many presents, but he said that he would be watching and to make sure you share your toys and respect your mommy and Daddy, among other things... Santa rocks!

p.s. Always remember that toys will not make you happy. Stuff won't make you happy. The only thing that can bring you true happiness is LOVE - loving others, giving to others and loving yourself. It's one of the truest thing I'll ever tell you.
