Hudson,
School was canceled again today because of snow and ice. I think the weather man was a bit dramatic though, because the roads were not that bad. Last week, they were bad. School has been canceled a lot lately, so Mamma has had to be creative. It's hard being stuck in the house. Mamma gets as antsy as you.
Today, we got creative and made Daddy a card for Valentine's Day. I cut the hearts out and you pasted them on the card. We found a picture of you and Daddy and pasted it on the front. You were so excited to give it to daddy. You gave him a big hug, and said, "I love you" and hugged him tight. Oh sweetie, it was precious. Daddy's heart melted and he said it was the best card anyone has ever given him.
We jammed out for a long time today. I said, "What do you want to listen to?" I yelled out some bands and artists, and you said, "Bob Dylan." Bob Dylan! You are 2 years and 10 months old. Bob Dylan he says. Only the greatest songwriter of all time, and according to Rolling Stone, the 2nd greatest asrist of all time, only behind The Beatles. WOW. First, "I put on "It Ain't Me Babe," and you did not want to hear that version. You are now use to Johnny Cash's version and you said, "I don't like that one!" How about that? He's not even 3, and oh, he likes Johnny Cash's version of "It Ain't Me Babe," instead of Bob Dylan's. Then, we listened to "Like a Rolling Stone," and you dig that one. You also like "Knockin' on Heaven's Door."
We also listened to U2 today. Now listen to this - I put on "Beautiful Day," one of my favorite songs, and no joke, no joke, we were about 3 or 4 seconds into the song, I asked, "What song is this baby?" You said, "Beautiful Day." Ok, is that unbelievable??? Am I just a doting Mamma? No, no way. You are brilliant! You have an ear. You are like your Mamma with lyrics and beats. You know the song immediately and you are not even 3. That's amazing. We'll be listening to a song and you will just come out with a line and I can never believe it. I look at you and I say, "You know the words!" and you just smile. Are you some kind of musical genius? .... We were lstening to a Chris Brown song. He is a hip hop artist (we run the gamut). It's a new radio song called "Yeah 3x." We have only listened to it a few times. It's catchy. You already know some of the words. Crazy!
We also listened to Tom Petty, Katy Perry and the Black Eyed Peas. You love this Katy Perry song called "Firework." A line of the song says, "Boom boom boom, even brighter than the moon moon moon, it's always been inside of you you you." Lea Michele sang it last night on "Glee" (a very popular show on TV right now) and we watched it over and over. You kept saying, "Firework again." I would lift you up and dance again until I got too tired!
We went to eat lunch. You wanted a cheeseburger, which sounded good, so off we went. We needed to get out of the house anyway. During lunch, you stopped eating and looked at me and said, "I love you Mamma." Oh my Gawd! Talk about a perfect, shining moment. Bliss!!! I love you my love!
