Mamma made her first ever Jack O-Lantern with you today! I think I did a pretty darn good job if I say so myself. It was so fun. I drew 2 different faces on a sheet of paper. One had a face with a jagged smile and one had a smoothe smile. You said, the one with the jagged smile looked sad and that you wanted the jack o lantern to be happy, so that's the face I carved. For my baby. We named him Jackie. You really like him and you were so excited when we put the candle in him. You said, "Mommy, he is a Jack-O'-Lantern because he has a face. Those are pumpkins because they don't have faces," pointing to our other pumpkins. By the way, you did not like the gutting of the pumpkin and you thought the stuff inside was gross, "OOOO gross Mommy!" So, you didn't help me clean it out. (It's OK to get dirty and messy my baby. Life is messy).
I love you my little jack o lantern! I do it all for you - just to see your beautiful smile.
