Show and Tell T Rex...
October 4, 2011
So, this morning, you decided you wanted to take one of your 20 T Rex's to school for show and tell. At Saint Alcuin, you can bring something any day that you want, but you have to be prepared to tell the class about what you are bringing. The class apparently gathers around and you tell them about your item.
So, I told you that you could bring one of your smaller T Rexes to school, but that you had to tell the class about it. So, we got in the car and I said, "Let's practice. What are you going to tell the class about your T Rex?'' You got a huge smile on your face, you liked this and you got it. You are three, let's remember. So, I said, "The T Rex is called the king of all dinosaurs." You said, "yeah Mamma and the T Rex is a carnivore and he is mean." Then, I said, "the T Rex has small arms so he picks things up with his mouth," and you gave me a big smile and started practicing while I drove. So, you are in the back seat saying, 'The T Rex is the king of the dinosaurs, the T Rex is a carnivore, The T Rex has small arms," and I say, "Good Hudson!" You say, "Mamma, don't listen, I am practicing!" So you practice the whole way there.
Wow. you got it. You totally got it. Are you like some kind of savant?? You just get things. Not every 3 year old would just get this. You got that you had to talk in front of your class and tell them about your item and you liked it. Practicing lines like an actor! Maybe you are going to be an actor or a politician, not so sure about the latter, but I would support you! Miss Emily, the teacher's assistant, seems to think you are going to be an actor. You are something else Hudson Squires! Something special. Very very special!!!
P.s. I tried to ask you about T Rex show and tell after school and you said you did it and seemed excited for a second, but you would not tell me much about it and told me to stop talking about it. AUGH! I wish I could be a fly on the wall. I did email your teacher, Ms Barlow, and she wrote, "He did great!"
I love you my T Rex!!!!! xoxoxo
