Thank you Steve Jobs

October 5, 2011

Hudson,

Today the co-founder, Chairman and CEO of Apple died at the very young age of 56. He was a genius, a visionary and he changed the world - forever. He has been called the Henry Ford of the computer industry. He was brave and bold and very charismatic about Apple products. Because of him, my 3 year old (you), can use an I-Pad (a tablet computer) and my I phone. Because of him, you walk around saying (at 3), "Can I use your I Pad Mommy? Can I watch a movie on your I-Phone Mommy? Can we download some new Apps Mommy?" I have been a Mac user for many years and so I have followed Jobs for awhile. His death hit me. I actually found out that he died on the device he invented (the I-Phone), and it took my breathe away. He created the I-Pod and made it possible for me to have a 1000 songs on one device, and for me that was the best. I remember when the I -Pod was not Windows friendly and I had to install a fire wire in my PC to use it - that's before I was 100% Mac.

The loss of Jobs was felt globally, young and old. He generated 10,000 tweets per second. Would the loss of other CEO's generate this kind of social frenzy? That was the question of a journalist and it was a good one.

By the time you are a man, who knows how advanced technology will be - you may look at the I-Phone as archaic, which is crazy to me. And if you do, know that it was revolutionary during my 30s, and the I Pod was the same during my 20s.

A Psychologist said, "He surrounds himself with really bright people who further elevate his thinking and his expertise and knowledge." This is what smart men do, which makes them even more smarter.

"There may be no greater tribute to Steve's success than the fact that much of the world learned of his passing on a device he invented." - President Barack Obama

*An Interesting fact about Jobs: His biological father was Abdulfattah John Jandali, a Syrian Muslin immigrant to the U.S. He was adopted by Paul and Clara Jobs. Uncle Rhoni went off on that one - maybe we are related to him. Lebanon was a part of great Syria until 1918. Thank God his biological Mother had him - every life is a gift. She had a genius.

I love you Mac boy, Mamma

A Mac boy. You will grow up in an I world, never knowing life without it. You got everything you need before sleep - Macbook, I -pad and Max, the monkey you have been sleeping with since you were a baby. This picture was taken in Crested Butte (June 2011).

Steve Jobs 1955-2011

A young Jobs. Apple's phrase was "Think Different." These are words to live by my love. Always think outside the box and take the road less traveled by.
