Easter in Louisiana, 4-23-11

Hudson,

We went to Louisiana for Easter this year. We stayed at Uncle Scott's farm and you had an absolute blast. You call Scott Uncle Muntenee. You use to say "muntenee" instead of money. It was the cutest thing. We were all eating at a restaurant and there were candy machines. Uncle Scott kept giving you quarters, and he said, "Just call me Uncle Muntenee," and it stuck.

You love Jackson so much. You follow him everywhere. Squires is so sweet to you and so intuitive with children, but you still spend the whole time following Jackson and if he is not around, you ask, "Where's Jackson?" Jackson is very good with you. All three of your cousins - Scotty, Squires and Jackson are extremely polite and kind. They are good boys for you to look up to.

You ran all over the farm. You truly did not stop for one second. The boys rough housed with you, took you on the four wheeler all over the farm and also took you on the boat.

The boat was another story altogether. The boys had been out on the boat early and actually caught a crocodile! Yes, a crocodile. It was not alive, but none the less a crocodile. It's all in the pictures below. So, they wanted to take the crocodile somewhere and dump it. Of course you wanted to go - my little 3-year-old baby. Daddy took you on the boat with the boys and you all dumped the croc. Now, it is important to note - you were conflicted about the crocodile. I am not sure what you thought exactly or if you could even comprehend the fact that it was not alive, but you weren't sure about dumping it. Maybe you thought it was sleeping. Hudson, you are very sympathetic towards animals. Your Daddy's side hunts, but I am, not sure you will want to hunt and kill animals. You get too upset if you think an animal or a human is hurt. I guess the future will tell.

Speakings of animals, you made friends with an entire box of fish bait, better known as worms. Jackson had brought out the box of worms so that it could be used as bait. They became your friends. At first, I was a bit mortified, however, I let you be a boy. I wanted you to get all dirty and have fun. I thought it was kind of cute really. We named one of the worms "Wormy." You showed SuSu and Aunt Shannon your new friends - holding a wiggling worm up stating, "This is Wormy." You had absolutely no clue that these creatures were going to be used to catch fish. You just thought they were your new friends. Ahhh... the innocence of a child.

We went into Shreveport for church on Easter Sunday and you thought that was awesome because there were donuts and you had way too many. Aunt Shannon and the boys hid Easter eggs for you back at the farm and you just kept eating more candy. You had too much! Boy, you have such a serious sweet tooth Hudson. But what can I say? So do I.

Daddy wanted to take you fishing and we all took a walk to the pond. You sat with Daddy for a minute, but became uninterested quickly. You and I wandered over to the horses. You went back to one horse you really liked - her name was Beauty and she was chocolate and cream (picture below). Uncle Muntenee helped you get up on one horse. You are so not afraid of horses. You walk right up to them. You rode a few horses before you were even 2. You just jump right on.

We stayed in one of the trailers and you got to sleep next to Daddy and I for two days and you loved that. You stayed up so late while at the farm. It was crazy because you don't stay up that late. Then, we would get back to the trailer and it would take you 45 minutes to fall asleep - you were just so keyed up. If Daddy and I said one word, you would say, "Stop talking," but in a cute way! We just laughed. We paid for this because you did not want to sleep in your bed when we got home, but all so worth the trouble. You were precious! You also slept the entire way back from Shreveport to Dallas. You were exhausted. Truly.

We had a great time at the farm. It's all boy - animals, fishing, crocodiles, worms, boats, fires, hunting, mud and more.

Happy Easter my baby, Mamma & Daddy love you!
