Hudson,
Today after school we went to St. John's park along Turtle Creek. This is one of our favorite spots. We go all the time and have since you were just a wee baby. It's a fun a park, because besides the jungle gym, we go on adventures. You can walk all around the creek, and it really doesn't even feel like you are in Dallas. We ind different adventures, throwing lots of rocks and sticks into the Creek. I always skip rocks and sing Tim McGraw's "Something Like That." There's one line that says, "Skipping rocks by the river on the railroad tracks." Today, you did something you have never done before. You took off your shoes and walked up and down the muddy creek. You thought it was the coolest thing. Three big girls walked by and they were all doing it. So, your proceeded to take off your socks and shoes too. I let you walk on in and you smiled a big smile after that first step and kept going. Boy, it was fun watching you. When you are happy and excited, so am I. We will definitely be going there tomorrow to do that.
By the way, you cross the creek all the time. You only use to do it when Daddy would put you on his back. Daddy would carry you and then carry me over. You loved that. But, then you started doing it by yourself. There are paths of rocks in some areas and you find your way to each rock and you are so proud of yourself when you reach the other side. You could cross that Creek a hundred times, back and forth. I am not sure it is the safest thing going and sometimes it makes me nervous, but I have always let you do adventurous things. I stand close by and watch, but let you do your thing. You like to live on the wild side, fearless you are Hudson the adventurer.
Ti amo amore mio, Mamma
